Welcome to West Kype Farm

West Kype Farm is a family run business, established by Linda Anderson as a small livery yard over 15 years ago. Andrew Wilson joined the yard in 1999 and together they have created a successful equestrian concern providing tailored livery services; schooling, breaking and coaching.

Both Linda and Andrew have worked with horses all of their lives and their interests extend to breeding and competing. Over the last ten years, they have produced a number of successful young horses which Andrew has competed at The Horse of the Year Show, Hickstead and The Royal Highland Show. Linda’s daughter Gillian, coached by them both, enjoyed great show-jumping success during her time on ponies, competing on numerous Scottish teams and qualifying for finals at Hickstead, The Royal Highland Show and The Horse of the Year Show.

Linda and Andrew take great pride in bringing the dedication, care and professionalism required to successfully compete at these levels to running the activities at West Kype Farm proving that there is no substitute for practical experience. This combined with the welcoming and friendly atmosphere and a strong focus on customer satisfaction attracts a diverse range of clients and horses of all ages, interests and abilities. Many of these clients are long standing and many liveries, delighted with the personal care and attention, have been clients of West Kype for a number of years.

There is a desire to continue to improve and develop the equestrian services and activities on offer at West Kype and Spring 2011 sees an exciting development with the construction of an indoor school, equipped with a full course of jumps and a dressage arena. This is part of a carefully planned programme of developments and complements the existing all weather school and grass-jumping arena. These facilities combined with the rural location, 3 miles outside Strathaven, providing extensive hacking on quiet roads, make West Kype a natural choice for many riders.
