SCOTTISH JUNIOR ACADEMY DATES 2012.
The Junior Academies are ready to start again from September 2012. There are going to be a couple of small changes to how I take payments but please don’t panic this in the long run will make things much easier as you will not need to worry about paying any money on the night of your session it will just be taken off at the end of the month when the majority of people get paid.
For new members age and ability will determine how soon you need to join British Showjumping especially for our Tiny Tots of the Junior Academies. For Club membership you will certainly start to see more Club Shows in your area from this month onwards and you can compete at these if you are a member or an unaffiliated rider. These start officially from 70cm but most venues put on smaller warm up classes to help build you up.
The reason for the new cancellation policy is due to some Academies struggling with members not showing up on the night of training and no monies being paid which reflects on the Training Coordinator paying for venues and coaches at a loss. The five days grace allows the Coordinator to find another person to fill your slot or potentially cancel that session if not enough riders to run.
Our Training Coordinators are all volunteers and this new process will result in no costs to them by phoning members or chasing payments.
I look forward to seeing you all again this month and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
Details below:
Please note for the year commencing September 2012 until June 2013 for Junior Academy Sessions the payment and booking methods have changed.
Changes starting in September 2012:
- All British Showjumping Club/National Members that wish to take part in the Junior Academy Sessions will need to fill out a Direct Debit form which is found on the link below or on the British Showjumping website under membership. Please follow the instructions on the Direct Debit form and return to head office at Stoneleigh. Your details will be placed onto your membership account and after each Junior Academy session I will inform head office of the fee to be deducted from your account, this will be taken off at the end of the month of your Junior Academy session. Your details will only be used to cover payment for your Junior Academy sessions unless you specify otherwise with head office.

*The offer still stands for new members to attend three Academy sessions before they must join British Showjumping. For these individuals payment by cheque or credit card can be taken, cash will not be accepted*
- Your Training Coordinator will email all Academy members in advance offering a space for the Academy Session, some Coordinators may prefer texts, anyone wishing to join this session must either email the coordinator back asking for a place or phone their coordinator to confirm. Your Training Coordinator will not phone you to confirm if you wish to attend. If you book a place and not follow the cancellation procedure below you will be charged for that session and this will come off your account at the end of the month.
- In the event of not enough numbers to financially run an Academy session the date will be cancelled or postponed.
- 4. Cancellation policy – Junior Academies
