Marita Dobson-Barr who travels all the way from Dumfries to compete at West Kype’s affiliated dressage has been rewarded with a lovely mention in the Horse and Hound in the Oct 30th edition.
At the two recent shows in August and October Martita and her horse Spartacus won both Novice classes on both days. She has had Spartacus for four years and as well as competing dressage she competes small hunter classes and qualified for the Royal International Horse Show at Cumberland County. Spartacus is an eight year old gelding and is by a traditional coloured cob out of a former race horse mare.
It is a 4 hour round trip for Martita which she feels is worthwhile as “It is my most favourite venue out of all I’ve been to both sides of the Border!”
We are sure the pair will qualify for the winter regionals and wish them all the best there.
