October saw the first Scottish Inter Academy Championships sponsored by the Scottish Branch of BS run at Kingsbarn. Each academy was allowed to send one team and two individuals for each of the three classes. As one of the smaller academies in Scotland we were delighted to field three teams of four and an individual. There was great excitement from the word go right to the finish as there were prizes of funds for academies at the end of the day for the top placed three teams, £300 to first, £200 to second and £100 to third. Points were accrued over the day for places in classes and double clears. Lanarkshire did exceptionally well with being the only team on the day who had all four team members in each class go double clear. Unfortunately the other academies were just a bit speedier in the jump off – this year ! – but the posting of our double clears earned us third place overall which was a great achievement and gave us third place. The winners were Aberdeen with South West Scotland in second. Competitors for Lanarkshire were;
